Programming during the COVID-19 Pandemic The effects of Coronavirus on programming across the world. Early Stages of Covid-19 Computer-learning for programming has been trending up over the years COVID-19 has, and continues to, isolate people from others. During the early months of COVID-19 , many programming-teaching companies such as Unity, Udacity, and Coursera offered free programming lessons to the users with accounts on their site. This was a common trend for companies in early 2020, in an attempt to either capitalize or remain relevant by reaching out to the large number of remote learners. Coronavirus presented many with an opportunistic time to learn skills, and programming was a highly-learned skill during this time. With many programming jobs becoming remote following the pandemic, learning and practicing programming online is a perfect Segway. Introduction - What Works For You? The sky's the limit when it comes to programming. As with anything, there's going to be obstacles along the way, but these can all be overcome with hard work and perseverance. Programming is all about attempting to solve issues, and then finding answers when you don't. The best professionals in their respective fields often have to search for answers and learn more. This applies to programmers, who are constantly searching for answers when they run into roadblocks. One should not be discouraged about the journey to get the goal, but instead should be pleased with the progress that they've made. Getting Started - Researching Programming Languages and Finding Appropriate Solutions. Introduction - A Story About Togetherness via Programming Have you ever worked on a programming project and lost motivation or given up on it entirely? That's not uncommon, in fact, most programmers could go on and on about all of the uncompleted projects that they've worked on over the years. It's easy to start something, but it's hard to go all the way through with it to completion. One inspirational story that I also come back to is a game that 5 year old Cassie Creighton and her father Ryan Creighton made in 2011. Ryan and Cassie worked together to create Sissy's Magical Ponycorn Adventure . Sissy's Magical Ponycorn Adventure is a flash game that was programmed by Ryan, but designed, illustrated, voiced, etc., by 5 year old Cassie. TOJam - A Programming Conference for all Skill Levels Ryan and Cassie created this game together during TOJam , a three day game jam event where all participants must start and finish their games during the event. Game jams can be

The Joys of Programming

Programming is a fun, enriching, and helpful hobby that everyone should try. The goal of my blog is to showcase the joys of programming. I have been practicing programming for over 10 years now, creating games and applications, tutoring others, and learning languages for fun. I never looked at programming as a chore in any way, but instead I've simply found it to be a fun way to create something that I felt was helpful or interesting. My goal has always been to fill a want by creating something that doesn't exist, and programming allows me to do just that.  It doesn't matter how old you are or what your end goals are, it is worth giving programming a try. People of all ages are learning how to program right now. Whatever it is you want to do in life, there is always a way to build something helpful in relation to it via programming. It's exciting to achieve your goals despite how lofty or specific they may be, and programming allows for that. Doing what you want and ac
